Standing as your parliamentary candidate for East Wiltshire

Jennie
Westbrook

Lives in Wiltshire. Works in Wiltshire. Wins in Wiltshire.

Wiltshire is my home. It is where I grew up, where I live, where I work and where I proudly serve my community.

I am a Wiltshire councillor, former Deputy Mayor of Melksham and experienced campaigner. Working for a Wiltshire MP has given me first-hand experience of helping residents, tackling difficult issues and understanding parliamentary representation.

I believe in listening, taking action and bringing communities together.

Women's Safety · Featured speech

“Standing Up for Women and Girls”

In July 2026, I stood in the Wiltshire Council chamber to call for violence against women and girls to be recognised as an emergency.

Having personally supported women navigating the criminal justice and social care systems, I know how important it is that their experiences are heard and taken seriously.

I was proud to lead the motion that resulted in Wiltshire Council formally recognising violence against women and girls as an emergency.

Standing up for families struggling to access the healthcare and educational support they deserve.

Environment & Local Communities

My National Priorities

National Issues I'm Passionate About

Fairness, equality, opportunity and building a country that works for everyone.

My political priorities are rooted in fairness. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background, income or where they live.

I am passionate about electoral reform and proportional representation, ensuring that people's votes are fairly reflected in Parliament. I also support rebuilding Britain's relationship with Europe, with the ambition of rejoining the EU.

Tax reform is another priority, particularly reviewing Stamp Duty, which can create significant upfront costs for people moving home. I want a fairer, simpler tax system that considers first-time buyers, growing families, people looking to downsize and differences in property markets across the country.

Education and skills are equally important. I support reforming school funding, improving SEND provision and expanding apprenticeships, particularly in rural areas where transport and access to training can be significant barriers.

Above all, I care about ensuring rural counties such as Wiltshire are properly represented in national decisions about investment, infrastructure and public services, rather than being overlooked in favour of major cities and the South East.

For me, national politics should be about creating a fairer society, widening opportunity and ensuring every community has a voice in shaping the country's future.

My Roadmap for East Wiltshire

How I would organise to win.

A proposed approach, built on my experience so far — not a guarantee of any result.

  1. 01

    Stage 1

    Understanding the Constituency

Researching East Wiltshire's varied communities, including Marlborough, Pewsey, Amesbury, Tidworth, Ludgershall and the Swindon Borough divisions — understanding how they work together and how we can target different areas to increase support and win.

  2. 02

    Stage 2

    Listening to Communities

Maintaining direct engagement with residents and community organisations to understand local concerns.

  3. 03

    Stage 3

    Using Data Responsibly

Combining verified electoral information, demographic research and local knowledge to understand the constituency, with appropriate privacy protections.

  4. 04

    Stage 4

    Building and Supporting Teams

Drawing on experience recruiting volunteers and coordinating activity across large rural geographical areas.

  5. 05

    Stage 5

    Fundraising and Resources

Using experience as fundraising lead for Melksham and Devizes and specialist training to understand budgeting, transparent fundraising and responsible resource management.

    Communications and Accountability

Using professional communications, public speaking, media and digital experience to communicate clearly and report progress.
